He started out in Armed Forces Radio while assigned to the
USS Matthews, then KRAN- AM in Morton, Texas; KCRS-AM in Midland, TX and ABC TELEVISION in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico as a TV Dance Show Host under his real name Rod Fry.
Then, he became Harry Legg at KELP-AM in El Paso, Texas; then KIRV-AM in Fresno, CA as Chuck Harrigan; KEAP-AM Fresno, CA as Chuck Wagon and the moved into Southern California at KWOW-AM as Chuck Wilder while also working at KIEV-AM as Don Collins and XPRS-AM as Harry Legg.
In 1972 the name remained Chuck Wilder at stations KIEV-AM; KRLA-AM; KPLS-AM; KSPA and KCAA-AM.
He became the executive producer and co-host of veteran radio broadcaster “George Putnam’s “Talkback” radio program for almost 30 years and following Putnam’s death in 2008 became the permanent host “of “Talkback”.
